AR QUIZZES
Accelerated Reader is comprised of three quiz types that encourage reading growth: Reading Practice Quiz, Vocabulary Practice Quiz, and Literacy Skills Quiz. Before a student may take a Vocabulary Practice Quiz or Literacy Skills Quiz, he/she must take and pass the Reading Practice Quiz.
The software scores the quizzes, provides immediate feedback to the student, and stores the results. It also provides a variety of report options for the teacher to monitor and manage student reading practice. Implementing AR in the classroom is a simple 3-step process.
Student

Selects a book within his/her own personal ZPD range.

Reads the book. The book may be read to the student, read with a reading buddy, or read independently (TWI).

Takes the Reading Practice Quiz. If the quiz is passed and if a Vocabulary Practice Quiz is available for the title, the student will be asked if he wants to take the quiz. It may be taken immediately, at a later time, or not at all.
Teacher

Schedules time for reading.

Dialogues regularly with each student about their reading practice.

Monitors and acts upon the data.
